COURSE DESCRIPTION: 
A rigorous introduction to the class of special functions needed to solve problems in physics and engineering. Among the topics treated are Bessel functions, boundary value problems, hypergeometric functions, confluent and generalized hypergeometric functions, Jacobi elliptic functions and integrals, and applications to problems in geometry and physics.
