This course is designed to provide the students in the liberal arts with an introduction to some of the major concepts of modern mathematics Topics include why and how numbers were invented, history of mathematics; set theory and Venn diagrams, comparative study of algebra of sets and algebra of numbers, applications to logic circuits; selected topics from number theory; counting and elementary probability; compound interest, discrete and continuous.
