Schedule of Classes Course Description

Medgar Evers College
Course Prefix: CHM                                     Course Number: 351
Course Title: Environmental Organic Chemistry
Subject: Chemistry
Minimum Credits: 4.0                                     Maximum Credits: 4.0                                     Hours per week: 6.0

This course is designed to provide some understanding of how molecular interactions and macroscopic transport phenomena determine the distribution in space and time of organic compounds released into the natural environment. Students will be trained on the technique of using chemical structure to deduce physical properties, and reactivities. Students will eventually be able to construct mathematics models to evaluate the fates of organic compounds in the environment.

Prerequisite: CHM 303.
  • 3 class hours, 3 laboratory hours.
