COURSE DESCRIPTION: |
This course is a systematic examination of the field of law enforcement in terms of the personal and occupational stress placed on the individual practitioner. Organization structure and policy will be analyzed for their roles in creating and ameliorating stress. Emotional consequences of law enforcement, critical incidents and post traumatic stress disorder, and stresses of the law enforcement family are also covered. Personal and occupational stress management techniques and strategies are also examined. . |
